🌿 Why We Chose Jade for 2026 - This is our second year choosing a crystal/mineral (stone) of the year. When we choose a stone it's because it feels like the right companion for the year we’re stepping into.
2026 carries the energy of forward motion & freedom.
In the Chinese zodiac, it reflects the Year of the Horse; a symbol of movement, independence, courage, and the desire to live freely. In numerology, 2026 is a Universal Year 1, a year of beginnings, leadership, and new direction.
That combination is powerful—but it can also be overwhelming.
Horse energy wants to run. Year 1 energy wants to start everything at once.
Jade has long been honored as a stone of wisdom, abundance, and dream catacher wisdom protection. Jade doesn’t slow us down it helps us move with intention. It reminds us to begin from the heart, to choose what is sustainable, and to trust timing rather than urgency.

🌿 The Two Types of Jade
Understanding Burmese Jadeite & Nephrite
Jade is not a single stone, but a name shared by two closely related yet distinct minerals. Both carry the essence of jade—balance, protection, and heart-centered wisdom—while expressing it in slightly different ways.
At Violets in Bloom, we honor both for their unique qualities.
Burmese Jade (Jadeite)
Clarity • Vitality • Refined Abundance
Burmese Jade (also known as Jadeite) is the rarer and more vibrant form of lighter jade. Sourced primarily from Myanmar (formerly Burma), this type of jade is known for its rich, luminous greens and glass-like translucency.
Burmese Jade carries a sharper, more activating energy. It is especially supportive during times of initiation, leadership, and when stepping into a new chapter with confidence.
Energetic qualities:
-
Supports clarity in vision and decision-making
-
Amplifies abundance and prosperity intentions
-
Encourages precision, refinement, and conscious choice
-
Strengthens the connection between heart wisdom and purposeful action
Nephrite Jade
Protection • Grounding • Endurance
Nephrite is native to India and is a darker form of jade, historically revered for tools, talismans, and protective carvings. It has a softer, more fibrous structure and often appears in deeper, earthier green tones.
Energetic qualities:
-
Provides steady protection and emotional grounding
-
Supports long-term growth and resilience
-
Encourages patience and trust in natural cycles
-
Strengthens the nervous system and sense of safety
Nephrite Jade holds a deeply ancestral energy. It works quietly, offering support through consistency rather than intensity.
Best for:
-
Ongoing healing and stabilization
-
Daily wear and grounding practices
-
Times of transition where safety and steadiness are needed
🌿 Choosing Between Them
Both forms of jade are deeply supportive—there is no “better,” only different needs.
-
Choose Burmese Jadeite when clarity, expansion, and refinement are calling.
-
Choose Nephrite when grounding, protection, and endurance are needed.
In many practices, the two are used together—one to illuminate the path, the other to support the long walk forward.
