Peridot in Basalt Xenolith

$40.00

Peridot is an iron and magnesium-rich silicate that is the gem variety of Olivine. It can be found on Basalt, crystallized in the form of tiny grains, or shaped like small prismatic crystals.

A xenolith is a piece of rock trapped in another type of rock.

More frequently, a xenolith is a rock embedded in magma while the magma was cooling.

Xenoliths are formed from deep cracks, or “pipes”, in the Earth’s surface. Magma rises to the Earth’s surface through these pipes between the Earth’s crust and mantle.

You will receive this exact specimen.
